Tour Program

Our adventure begins in Bergen, where we board a comfortable coach and set off towards Geiranger, one of Norway’s most iconic and breathtaking destinations.

As we travel north, we pass through some of Western Norway’s most stunning landscapes. Towering mountains, deep fjords, and lush valleys unfold before us, each turn in the road revealing new and dramatic scenery. Along the way, we take a ferry across the mighty Sognefjord—Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. As we glide across the water, we soak in the spectacular views of fjord arms, majestic peaks, and the ever-changing coastal scenery. This is the perfect opportunity to stretch our legs, breathe in the crisp sea air, and capture unforgettable photos before we continue our journey.

We then drive through scenic valleys and across the Strynefjellet mountain pass, where we are met with breathtaking highland landscapes, shimmering lakes, and dramatic peaks. As we approach Geiranger, we get our first glimpse of the famous fjord, its sparkling waters nestled between steep, towering mountains. This is nature at its most magnificent!

Upon arrival, we check into the charming Hotel Union, beautifully situated with panoramic views of the fjord. We are warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and have some time to familiarize ourselves with the hotel’s facilities—perhaps a visit to the spa, a relaxing moment on the terrace, or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery.

In the evening, we gather in the hotel’s elegant restaurant for a delightful dinner, featuring local specialties and the best flavors of Western Norway. Over great conversations and growing anticipation for the days ahead, we enjoy the perfect end to our first day in Geiranger.

We start the day with a delicious breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, where we enjoy fresh, locally sourced ingredients while taking in the peaceful fjord views. For those who wish, a morning yoga session is available—a perfect way to stretch and refresh before embarking on the day's adventures.

Our first experience of the day is the spectacular Geiranger Waterfall Walk, a unique trail that brings us close to the mighty Storfossen waterfall. Starting right by the hotel, the hike follows an architecturally impressive route with 327 steps, designed to provide the best views of the waterfall and surrounding landscape. Along the way, we pass several scenic viewpoints, where we can admire the raw beauty of nature and listen to the roar of cascading water.

After the hike, we return to the hotel for a light lunch before the next experience. Those who wish can take advantage of the hotel's spa facilities, including a sauna, swimming pool, and relaxation area.

In the afternoon, we explore Geiranger’s unique vintage car collection at the hotel’s private museum. This remarkable exhibition showcases classic cars from the 1920s and 1930s, once used to transport tourists through the spectacular landscape. Among the museum’s highlights are a 1919 Cadillac and a 1925 Studebaker—each with a fascinating story. While enjoying an aperitif, we learn about the history of these iconic vehicles and their role in Geiranger’s tourism legacy.

In the evening, we gather for a delicious dinner at the hotel, followed by a relaxing and social evening in the hotel’s cozy lounge.

Today, we embark on one of the highlights of our journey—a fjord cruise through the world-famous Geirangerfjord.

This UNESCO-listed fjord is one of Norway’s most iconic landscapes, with sheer cliffs, thundering waterfalls, and old mountain farms clinging to steep slopes. Our boat trip brings us up close to the famous waterfalls—"The Seven Sisters," "The Suitor," and "The Bridal Veil." The plunging water creates a mesmerizing spectacle, and we hear the legendary stories behind these waterfalls' names.

During the cruise, we also get a glimpse of the isolated mountain farms, which stand as a testament to human resilience and adaptation to nature. After this magical fjord experience, we return to the hotel for a delicious two-course lunch, allowing us time to reflect on the beauty we have just witnessed.

In the afternoon, we visit the Norwegian Fjord Centre, an engaging and informative visitor and interpretation center dedicated to the West Norwegian Fjord Landscape. Through interactive exhibits, we gain a deeper understanding of the fjord’s history, geology, and the forces of nature that have shaped this stunning region.

After breakfast, we set off for Åndalsnes, where we experience the Romsdal Gondola—one of Norway’s newest and most spectacular cable cars.

The gondola takes us from the fjord up to Nesaksla Mountain, where we are met with breathtaking panoramic views of the Romsdalen Alps, the fjord, and the famous Rauma River.

After soaking in the views, we continue to one of Norway’s most famous roads—Trollstigen. This iconic mountain road winds up the steep cliffs in 11 hairpin turns, surrounded by dramatic peaks and roaring waterfalls. We stop at Trollstigen Viewpoint, where we enjoy a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the twisting road and the towering mountains—The King, The Queen, and The Bishop.

After a day of awe-inspiring landscapes, we return to Geiranger for a final evening at our hotel, where we share a dinner in good company.

Our journey back to Bergen begins after breakfast, but our adventure is not over yet!

The first highlight of today’s drive is Gaularfjellet, one of Norway’s most scenic mountain roads. We stop at Utsikten Viewpoint, where we take in the panoramic landscape of steep valleys, waterfalls, and winding roads.

Next, we cross the mighty Sognefjord by ferry, giving us one last chance to admire Norway’s longest and deepest fjord.

On the other side, we arrive in Vik, home to one of Norway’s most remarkable medieval landmarks—Hopperstad Stave Church. Built around 1130, this beautifully preserved wooden church is a rare architectural gem. Here, we learn about Norwegian medieval history, Viking influences, and the intricate symbolism in the church’s carvings.

In the afternoon, we continue towards Bergen, where we check into our centrally located hotel. After some free time to relax, we gather for a farewell dinner, reflecting on an unforgettable journey through fjords, mountains, and history.

On our final morning, we set out on a guided walking tour of Bergen’s historic center.

We explore:

  • Bryggen – the UNESCO-listed Hanseatic wharf with colorful wooden houses
  • The Fish Market – a lively market with fresh seafood and local delicacies
  • Fløibanen Funicular – a scenic ride up to Fløyen Mountain for panoramic views

After a morning full of history and stunning sights, our tour concludes, and we transfer to Flesland Airport for our journey home.
