Tour Program
We start our day from Haakon VIIs gate 9, setting off towards Kistefos Museum, one of Norway’s most impressive sculpture parks and art destinations.
Upon arrival, we take a guided tour through Kistefos’ unique sculpture park and the spectacular Twist Museum – an architectural masterpiece that functions as both a gallery and a panoramic viewpoint. Here, we experience world-class contemporary art, surrounded by stunning natural scenery.
Next, we visit Hadeland Glassverk, one of Norway’s oldest and most renowned craft centers. We enjoy a delicious lunch in historic surroundings, with Norwegian salmon followed by cake for dessert. After the meal we enjoy a guided tour of the glassworks, where we watch skilled glassblowers at work and learn about traditional glassmaking techniques that have been practiced here since 1762. There will also be time to explore the shops offering unique handmade glass products.
Our final stop of the day is the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, where we take a guided tour of historic buildings from all over Norway.
One of the highlights of our visit is the Gol Stave Church, an medieval church from the 13th century, famous for its intricate wooden carvings and impressive architecture. Here, we gain a unique insight into Norway’s religious history, discovering how Norse and European architectural traditions merged in these beautifully crafted churches.
We also explore traditional farmhouses, 18th and 19th-century townhouses, and learn about how Norwegians lived through the ages.
After a day filled with art, craftsmanship, history, and scenic beauty, we return to Haakon VIIs gate, enriched with new impressions and unforgettable memories from our journey.
