Tour Program
Winter season (October-May)
Meeting point: Strandkaien 17 (next to the Express Boats)
Our bus, driver, and tour guide will be ready approximately 15 minutes before departure.
Within just ten minutes after leaving Bergen, we’re already out of the city and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
A little later, the road follows the idyllic Osterfjord, with Osterøy — Northern Europe’s largest inland island — on the left-hand side.
At the narrowest point of the fjord, you’ll spot the elegant suspension bridge that connects Osterøy to the mainland.
Meeting point: Strømgaten 4 (Bergen Togstasjon) - Departure from Bergen by train
Winter season (October-May)
The journey from Bergen offers stunning scenery, with views of the beautiful Osterfjord and engaging stories from your guide along the way.
After about an hour, there will be a short break for restroom use and to stretch your legs. If opening hours allow, the stop will be at Dale Outlet, a charming store located next to the historic textile factory that has made the village famous for its high-quality knitwear.
About half an hour later, we pass through Voss – a charming town in the heart of Western Norway – before the landscape becomes even more dramatic, with majestic mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords.
Enjoy a scenic journey on the comfortable train back to Bergen (R40). This stretch of the Bergen Line takes you through ever-changing landscapes — from high mountain terrain to lush valleys, rivers, and traditional Norwegian villages.
Relax in your seat and enjoy wide panoramic views as the train winds its way toward the west coast.
The journey offers a peaceful and scenic transition from the dramatic mountains to the coastal city of Bergen, giving you time to reflect on the day’s unforgettable experiences.
Winter season (October-May)
Tvindefossen is an impressive waterfall, standing 116 meters tall, known for its beautiful shape and the many streams of water cascading down the cliff.
The waterfall has also gained a reputation for having “magical” properties – its waters are said to have a rejuvenating effect.
This has made Tvindefossen one of Norway’s most visited natural attractions, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
Winter season (October-May)
After Tvindefossen Waterfall we arrive by bus to Gudvangen, a beautiful and authentic village, nestled deep within the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord — a place that feels truly Norwegian.
Surrounded by towering mountains and cascading waterfalls, the village offers a calm and charming atmosphere.
Gudvangen is also home to the famous Viking Village, which adds to its unique character and historical charm.
The Flåm Railway brings you to the village of Flåm, a small, scenic village located at the heart of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the majestic Sognefjord.
Surrounded by steep mountains and waterfalls, it offers a peaceful atmosphere and some of the most beautiful scenery in the region.
In Flåm, you’ll have some free time to explore what interests you most – perhaps a visit to the charming Flåm Church or the Railway Museum, or simply a coffee and a sweet treat at a local bakery.
Now we board the boat that takes us onto the Nærøyfjord – one of Norway’s most beautiful and dramatic fjords.
With steep mountain walls, narrow passages, and impressive landscapes, the fjord offers a quiet and unforgettable way to experience Norway’s nature.
The Nærøyfjord is a branch of the Sognefjord and stretches for about 17 kilometres, with mountains rising to 1,800 metres above sea level.
As part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, this area stands as a remarkable example of Norway’s natural beauty.
Sit back, relax, and take in the unspoiled nature around you.

Winter season (October-May)
From Flåm you take the famous Flåm Railway, one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world. The 20-kilometer route between Flåm and Myrdal takes you from fjord to mountains through steep valleys, 20 tunnels, and past impressive waterfalls.
In the space of an hour, the train takes you from sea level by the Aurlandsfjord in Flåm up to Myrdal. With an elevation gain of 865 meters, it is both an engineering marvel and a nature experience you won’t soon forget.
From the comfortable classic carriages, you can watch the shifting landscapes of the Flåm Valley glide past your window. Before the train climbs into the more rugged parts of the valley, it passes farmland, the old centre of Flåm, and the church from 1670. The shimmering blue river follows the railway for much of the journey, and you’ll spot small farms perched in places where you’d hardly believe anyone could live.
Myrdal is also a stop on the Bergen Line, which makes it easy to combine the Flåm Railway with trains to and from Bergen or Oslo.
*On some days, there may be changes to the train timetable, and the train may depart earlier. If this happens, you will be notified in advance.
From Gudvangen we continue the trip by bus heading to the historic Stalheim hotel, majestically located with panoramic views over the dramatic Nærøyfjord Valley.

After our panoramic stop at Stalheim Hotel, we begin the journey back to Bergen — but with one more beautiful stop along the way: Tvindefossen Waterfall.
Tvindefossen is an impressive waterfall, about 116 meters high, known for its elegant shape and the many streams of water cascading down the mountainside. It is one of those waterfalls that looks almost designed for photographs, with water spreading like a veil over the rocks.
The waterfall has also become known for its local legend. According to the story, the water from Tvindefossen has almost “magical” properties and is said to have a rejuvenating effect. Whether you believe the legend or not, the place has certainly attracted visitors for generations — and today Tvindefossen remains one of the most popular natural stops in Western Norway.
Winter season (October-May)
We return to Bergen’s main train station filled with vivid impressions — the perfect end to a day offering a unique combination of fjords, mountains, waterfalls, and one of the world’s most beautiful railway journeys, all experienced in one of the most breathtaking countries on Earth.
We return to Bergen’s city center at Strandkaien 17 by coach.
Please note that, due to the nature of the roads and landscape in Western Norway, occasional delays may occur. We recommend allowing some flexibility in the schedule.
